BlueNote 2 is an innovative instrument designed for the iPhone, embodying a unique exploration of sound between minor and major tonalities. The app visually represents the frequency of chords, allowing for an engaging user experience.
Users can interact with the app by tapping on two or more points, whereby the interval between these pressed points inversely affects the resulting sound frequency. This interaction mimics the way strings resonate on traditional string instruments, creating a dynamic auditory experience. The timbre produced is characterized as a pristine sine wave.
The development team is actively seeking feedback to enhance the application, indicating a commitment to evolution based on user experiences.
How to Use:
- Tap on one area and then another to produce sound.
- The notes do not adhere strictly to "C," "D," or "E." Instead, users can explore scales by pressing surrounding areas in a sequential manner.
- When tapping on three or two points that form a circular figure, striking the intersection will yield harmonious chords. The intersection of the green and blue areas denotes a major chord, while red and blue signify a minor one.
- Select the 'M' marker located at the top and then choose two points within the figure to generate a major chord. Notably, in this major chord configuration, the ratio of the triangle's sides is represented as 10:12:15.
